….set up trust funds for persons living with Disabilities

 

In line with Governor Soludo’s vision to persons with disabilities, the Anambra State Disabilities Rights Commission is set to open liaison offices in the 21 local government area, 179 communities and 326 wards in the state as an effort to bringing services to the grassroots.

The commission equally equally set guidelines to open Persons Living with Disabilities trust Funds as stipulated by section 16 of the Anambra State Disability Rights Law 2018.

News Echo reports that the creation of section 3 of Anambra state Disabilities Rights law 2028 was a one stop shop established for all Disabilities services and related matters in Anambra state by the Obiano administration.

The Commission Chairman, Barrister Ezewuzie Chukwuka disclosed this during the communique issued at the quarterly meeting held on Tuesday, 23rd, 2028.

According to the statement, the commission reviewed and revised all activities of the commission implementing the Solution vision for persons with disabilities service in Anambra.

Chairman of the Commission, Mr Chukwuka Ezewuzie in his address noted that the essence was to bring Disabilities services to the local area. “So that people dont think that the services we render is not just at Awka. We hope to engage representatives at all levels where information are collated and taken to the state commsion office. We want to make sure that every Senatorial zone, local government, community and ward levels get the needed attention.

He pointed out some of the resolutions reached were collaboration and regular commission with the TC Chairman, Igwe’s, Religious Leaders, PG,s and Town Union Executive’s. Also, the commission equally sets to pull persons with Disabilities out of poverty using the following channels, establishment of Access Market Pavillion (AMP), cooperative society for persons with disabilities, credit facilities for entreprenuers with disabilities and trade fair for merchants and skilled persons”.

“One youths two skill enrollment for youths with disabilities and agricultural revolution-receiving and distributing cash crops for rural farmers with Disabilities”.

He added that the commission is poised now and never to ensure that persons living with disabilities in Anambra state will not only show the way but go the way.
