Following the victory of All Progressives Congress in the recent Ngor okpola state constituency bye election, the governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma has expressed his deep appreciation to the constituency for ensuring that the APC candidate emerged the winner in the election.

The governor made this known when the constituency paid him a solidarity visit in view of the outcome of the election.
The elated governor seized the opportunity to remind the people that their efforts and struggles will not be in vain as he disclosed that they will be rewarded accordingly for adhering to his plea during the campaign to vote in an APC candidate.

He maintained that the area has lots of resources yet to be tapped that should endear them to be rated the first among the 774 local governments in the country.

The governor in his magnanimity stated that he will present an executive bill to the House of Assembly requiring Ngor Okpala to be included among the Oil producing areas in the state.

He attributed the victory as an act of God, stating that no man can stay at a corner and decide who wins election unless God permits it.

He noted that for the constituency not to have a representative in the Imo House of Assembly for two years means alot and promised the people that his 3R mantra of Rehabilitation, Recovery and Reconstruction will ensure the restoration of all that the constituency has lost in the past twelve years of PDP rule.

“I want to congratulate you for the new freedom, be patient and believe in the government and we will not take you for granted” he stated. He further advised them to unanimously map out a development plan to move the area forward. He also declared that with the new commitment he sees in the people, their story will change for good.

The governor further urged the winner of the election Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu who floored his opponents with over 9248 votes to ensure he lives up to expectation and work with good conscience in order not to disappoint the people who turned out enmases to vote for him.

In his response, the leader of the delegation Chief TEO Ekechi thanked the governor for the support he gave to them during the election, stating that Ngor Okpala has broken the jinx that it belongs to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and assured of their unalloyed support to the governor’s administration.
