The Anglican Bishop of Ikeduru, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwuike has described terrorist groups in the country, such as Boko haram, bandits, killer herdsmen, as agents being used to push for the Islamization agenda of the federal government of Nigeria.
Bishop Maduwike made his feelings known while fielding questions from our correspondent recently in Ikeduru, expressing reservations over the identity of those causing mayhem in Imo State who he said may not be members of IPOB/ESN, but probably sponsored from outside the state/zone to blackmail the Igbos.
Maduwike condemned the recent clampdown on newspaper distributors and vendors in Imo State, wondering why the press should be censored in democracy
The Bishop however made it clear that the crisis in Imo State will soon be a thing of the past, as long as God is seated on His throne.
“God is alive and as long as he is alive, those that put their trust in him will never be put to shame. Imo State is God’s own state and as long as God is concerned, he will protect us.
“But I have always challenged South East governors to take up their positions.
They are God-given instruments to protect the people in the South East. They cannot sit down and be sleeping while the enemies ravage us. What I have always said is, we cannot just sit back and ask God to do for us what we can do for ourselves. “So I want to thank the governor of Imo for the stand he has just taken to really put an end to all these insurgence and terrorist actions”.
