The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has given quit notice to Asari Dokubo and Nnamdi Kalu following their recent activities on Biafra independence agitation. Wike warned secessionist agitators like ex-militant leader, Dokubo and the IPOB leader, Kalu that they would not be allowed to operate in Rivers State.
Wike made this remark when he received the Chief of Army Staff, COAS Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, on a courtesy visit to Government House, Port Harcourt, last Tuesday. He added that Rivers State would not be a part of any move to secede from the country, insisting that Nigeria would better in due course.
Recall that the Rivers State based agitator, Dokubo had recently formed what he described as ‘Biafra de facto Customary Government‘ in which he declared himself as the President. He also included most parts of South -South and South East in the territory of his new ‘country.’ Few moments after his declaration, almost all groups and leaders in the South –South zone countered Dokubo and disowned his new Biafra claims.
Wike vowed that he would never allow secessionists group like the one led by Dokubo, to use Rivers as the base for their separatist activities. In other words, Wike has just told the Biafra agitators to leave Rivers as the state, according to him, is not a Biafran territory.
