Anambra state Head of Service Mrs Theodora Igwegbe has called for peace to reign among the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress of the Anambra State chapter and as well resolved the feud that has existed for sometime in the union.
Hon Igwegbe made this resolve at a final meeting held recently at the Conference room of the office of the Head of Service and National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Secretariat in Awka. The Head of Service, Mrs Igwegbe urged everyone to give peace a chance since every position one occupies should be for true service to the people.
Mrs Igwegbe advised members to ensure that they allow the simple ideology of truth at all times to illuminate their minds which she said is the prerequisite for true service to humanity and successful occupation of any public office. She recognized and appreciated the intervention of the Anambra state Labour Veterans Forum that initiated the reconciliatory process and, in her wisdom, involved all State Advisory Council members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Nigeria Labour Congress past Chairmen, the Joint Negotiation Council Chairperson which gave room for open and uninhibited dialogue.
Mrs Igwegbe used the opportunity to commend the National Body of the Nigeria Labour Congress, which sent its General-Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ugbaja, who presided over the meeting. The General-Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Dr Ugbaja expressed optimism and confidence in the level of wisdom with which the matter was handled which produced Comrade Chinwe Orizu, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, in Anambra State. Others present were Comrades Nonye Chibueze, Humphrey Nwafor and Ifeanyi Nweke, Vice Chairmen and Comrade Gaius Chukwuka, Secretary and Comrade Sampson Chikwelu, Auditor.
