A total of five persons, four males and one female have sustained degrees of injuries including one male was lost his life following a fatal accident which occurred at Agulu, in Anaocha local government area of Anambra state.
News Echo gathered from an eye witness that the said unidentified trailer with registration number: ABN625YN, crashed as a result of brake failure and loss of control.
Ag, Sector Public Education Officer Sector Commander Anambra State FRSC, DRC Margaret B Onabe disclosed this to journalists on Monday. According to her, “fatal road traffic crash occurred at Agulu lake bridge by Nanka Agulu road, today 13th December, 2021 at about 16:15hrs”. “It was a lone vehicle crash. An unidentified driver of a white Mack Trailer with registration number: ABN625YN”. “The probable cause of the fatal crash was attributed to brake failure and loss of control (LOC).
According to an eyewitness report, the trailer was carrying bags of rice and when he was descending the Agulu hill, failed brake, lost control veered off the road and fell on its side. With passenger on top of the trailer”. “6 people comprising (4male adults and 2 female adults) were involved in the crash.
As at the time of filling this report, the injured victims were taken to St Joseph Hospital where 1 male adult was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and the dead victim deposited at the hospital morgue.
