To ensure that children and adults take nutritious foods, Foundation for Livelihood Advancement (FLA) has charged mothers to continue to provide and prepare nutritious foods for their families.
Speaking during the nutritious crops and foods (biofortified with vitamin A) sensitization and awareness campaign for ROSF beneficiaries at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Agbaja Road Ehime Mbano LGA Imo State, the Program Director of Foundation for Livelihood Advancement (FLA), Elder Kenneth Amogu noted that the intake of nutritious foods cannot be over-emphasized as nutritious foods ensure healthy living especially for the children and breastfeeding mothers.

Amogu posited that “we must promote the planting, processing and eating of highly nutritious food by planting it now to enable the mothers put nutritious food on the family’s table.

He hinted that mothers are directly involved in preparing household foods and so must be aware of the foods that are nutritious and serve same to the family members. He posited that vitamin A foods must be consumed if one must remain healthy in the face of intake of heavy starchy foods, adding that biofortified foods should be around in the family to balance the diet taken by all and sundry. He said that the nutritional value of any food to be taken should form the level of take as to be considered by the mothers, with a charge to not only consume but to plant vitamin A crops.
