Anambra State Community and Social Development Agency (ANCSDA) have successfully trained Twelve Community Project Management Committees (CPMCs) and Two Group Project Management Committees (GPMCs) from fourteen different focal Poor communities in Anambra State under Ánambra COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (AN-CARES) Program for Result (P for R) held at IDK Learning Center, Awka recently.
The twelve communities whose CPMC members were trained are Akili-Ogidi, Awa, Mputu, Ezira, Ogboji, Omasi, Amaokpala, Enugwu-Otu Aguleri, Atani, Igbariam, Nzam, and Abacha communities, while the two Vulnerable Groups (VGs) whose GPMC members were trained are Udoamaka Widows Association VG Olumbanasaa and Isulo Ga-adi Mma VG Isulo.
Project Officer, Information Education, Communication & Training ANCSDA, Nnamdi Onuzulike noted that the Two-Days technical capacity building sessions which was organized for members of CPMCs & GPMCs of the beneficiary communities and groups under AN-CARES had as it’s Key Resource persons, the General Manager ANCSDA, Mr Chudi Mojekwu, Manager Basic Services ANCSDA, Mrs Uche Nwaizugbo, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager ANCSDA, Sir Chuddy Nworah, Project Officer Procurement, Mrs Ngozi Anyaegbuna-Ojiyi, Project Internal Auditor ANCSDA, Mrs Stella Amaduche, Project Officer Supervision (Basic Services), Engr Sopuluchi Okoli, Project Officer Gender & Vulnerable, Ms Ifeoma Kwuazu, Project Officer Information, Education, Communication & Training, Mr Nnamdi Onuzulike, Project Officer Environment & Social Safeguard – Mr Ikechukwu Anofochi, and Operations Officer- Ifeoma Udorji.
The GM, Mr Chudi Mojekwu, in his opening remarks welcomed the participants who came from various communities across the state on-behalf of their communities and encouraged them to participate actively in the sessions.
Some of the various detailed presentations at the Training include Overview of NG-CARES (including the Programme Development Objective (PDO)/Community Driven Development (CDD) Concept), Roles & Responsibilities of CDAs and CPMC/GPMC members in the Community, Key issues in CDP/GrDP Formulation, Gender & Vulnerable Issues Mainstreaming in AN-CARES, DLI 1.4 (Basic Services Delivery), Financial Management, Bookkeeping, Participatory Monitoring & Evaluation, Community Contracting & Procurement, Operations, Maintenance and Project Sustainability, Environmental Management & Social Safeguard, Grievance Redress Mechanism, Conflict Management in Communities, Report Writing and Documentation, Effective Leadership and Team building in AN-CARES Basic Service Delivery.
The Agency Hierarchy and technical team equally engaged with the Chairpersons of the various Committees present on a Pre-implementation Deliberation to ascertain their level of preparedness and readiness to commence the project implementation once they’re funded by the Agency immediately after the Training.
In his vote of thanks on-behalf of other participants, Hon. Christopher Nwaka, CPMC Chairman Mputu Community, Ogbaru LGA, thanked the Agency for the technical training and support given to them which will enable them to successfully implement the prioritized microprojects in their communities.
He equally thanked the State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Federal Govt. and the World Bank for their partnership that help made the AN-CARES Programme a reality in helping the poor and vulnerable households and communities out of the effects of COVID-19 pandemic.
