The newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Dr MacDonald Ebere, has promised to join hands with his executive, stakeholders and the leader of the party,

Governor Hope Uzodimma, to grow the APC in order to continue to win elections to advance good governance and development in the state.

Ebere gave the promise during the official handover ceremony of the old executive members of APC to the new leadership held on Monday at the party’s secretariat Owerri.

Ebere who accepted the mantle of leadership of the party in good faith, expressed happiness for being selected to man the party, as he appreciated his predecessor, Prince Macillinus Nlemigbo, for lifting the party and making it strong, promising to keep the growth of APC to move the state forward.

According to the new Chairman, “I promised not to disappoint Governor Hope Uzodimma nor the party”, adding that members of his team are worthy apostles who would put in their best to see that the party is pushed to the zenith to achieve more success and popularity.

Ebere maintained that he will be able to handle his new position effectively just as he did while in the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), praying to God to always strengthen them to chart a good path for the party, lauding Nlemigbo and his team for leading the party well and successfully to have installed Senator Hope Uzodimma as governor despite challenges.

Giving a vote of thanks, the state Deputy Chairman of the party, Hon Matthew Omeghara, appealed to the past executive of the party to always support and advice them, as they would always listen to their advice, tasking the new executive to work hard in order to retain power in the state.

Earlie, handing over to the new leadership, former Chairman of the party, Prince Macillinus Nlemigbo, while thanking the party for the opportunity accorded him to lead, reminded the new executive that love is the guiding principle of the party’s success having worked in one accord hence success.

Nlemigbo stressed that the former governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha played down on the party, but he and his executive came and rebuilt the party to be what it is today, describing Dr Macdonald Ebere as being qualified and capable of leading the party as against the notion by some party members that the new Chairman is too young to lead the party in Imo State to fruition.

“If Dr MacDonald Ebere was able to handle the ENTRACO efficiently, I think he is very much capable of taking care of the party as Chairman”, advising the new leadership to always work cordially, appealing that grassroot members be always encouraged and carried along in government activities to have sense of belonging.
