In a bid to mainstream accountability, transparency, social inclusion and anti-corruption in governance especially as the 2023 election draws near, Alliances for Africa (AFA) has called for partnership with the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Imo State chapter.
Speaking during an advocacy visit to the Bar center of the NBA on Monday, Lilian Ibe of AFA noted that it is important that the NBA remains unshakable in her mandate of strengthening access to the institution of justice and promotion of rule of law for good governance to reign.
She posited that the NBA should assist in ensuring that policies and programs that check electoral fraud, corruption, social inclusion and under-representation of women, youths and the PLWDs are prominent in political sphere, adding that the NBA should be unwavering in her resolve to restore people’s confidence and trust in the judiciary system.
In his remarks, the chairman of NBA, Imo State chapter, Barr. Jude Ogamba noted that the NBA has not relented in her mandate of ensuring good governance. He said that they are ready to partner with AFA to mainstream accountability, transparency, social inclusion and anti-corruption in governance.
In her contribution, the Chairman FIDA, Imo State chapter Barr. Ndidi Anike, urged the NBA to work with Alliances for Africa in her engagement and advocacy for development of the state, stressing that the campaign for good governance needs congregation of strongest voices to achieve.
