An intensive capacity building training for the staff of Newsecho and News Insider Magazine has been slated to hold, Friday and Saturday in Owerri, Imo State.
To speak on the theme; ‘Enhancing Professionalism and Journalism Skills’ are experienced and exposed professionals in the persons of former Deputy Managing Director, SUN Newspapers, Mr. Steve Nwosu, who will speak on: “Aspects of Newspaper Production, Management and Packaging Strategies”.
Another speaker in the person of Alhaji Abdulfatah Oladeinde who was also a pioneer member of SUN Newspapers and former Sunday Editor of SUN who will speak on: “News Coverage, News Writing and Newsroom Management”. Oladeinde is a great newsroom expert.
One aspect of journalism that is fast evaporating is investigative journalism. Another Speaker, who is an expert and one of the investigative journalists Nigeria has ever produced, Dr. Austin Ukanwa will present a paper on: “Investigative Journalism, Ethics and Standards”.
The training will also be graced by Mr. Taiwo Obe’s Lagos Journalism Clinic. He will talk on “New Tools and Apps for Effective Journalism Practice in Today’s Digital Age”.
The essence of the training is to ensure that journalists at the organization stand out among the crowd for the best.
