In appreciation of the developmental work, Clan Chief (Prof) Kingsley Chimezie (Ebubemba Ikeduru) has done in Umuguma autonomous community of Owerri West, the traditional ruler of Umuguma has confered the philanthropist with citizenship of the area.
Speaking during the citizenship conferment at the palace of the monarch, HRH Eze George Nnamdi Ugorji (Eze Ohamere
IV of Umuguma Ancient Kingdom) said that the conferment was in recognition of Ebubemba’s outstanding performance as it concerns the development of Umuguma, adding that Ebubemba Ikeduru was the one that bought the transformer that is providing electricity in the Diamond Estate area.
He noted that he has also been assisting the young persons in various forms of empowerment for them to have meaningful lives. “Those actions of yours have helped in reducing the prevalence of crime in the community”, the traditional ruler posited.
The traditional ruler shortly after he said they have decided to make the publisher of News Echo and News Insider magazine, Ebubemba Ikeduru an indigene of Umuguma, a chieftaincy title of ‘Ahumara Eze Mma’ was equally confered on him. ‘By this citizenship conferment, you’re going to be part of us in all that we shall be doing, you’re now one of us’, he submitted.
In his remarks, the CEO of Deking Group of Companies, Chief Kingsley Chimezie in company of his wife, Lolo Maureen Nneka noted that the hospitality given to him by the people of Umuguma when he first came to live there was second to none, stressing that the community is peaceful and accommodating. He assured that he will continue to support the development of Umuguma Ancient Kingdom as God blesses him.
He applauded the traditional ruler of Umuguma Ancient Kingdom, the entire community, members of Uzoagba Stars Club and other personalities who graced the event, adding that the conferment of the citizenship will not be taken for granted as he will be a worthy ambassador of the community anywhere he goes.
