Lawmaker empowers 200 indigenes in Anambra

In continuation of his already proven legislative efforts and commitments to meaningfully engaging his constituents and making them self-reliant and independent, member representing Awka north and south constituency Sam Chinedu Onwuaso, on Saturday empowered another batch of constituents with Vocational Start-Up kits.

The empowerment programme held at Paul University Awka was a follow up and assurance to the over two hundred (200) beneficiaries following successful weeks of intensive trainings in their respective vocations and skill of interest.

News Echo reports that items distributed included, sewing machines, automobile repair boxes, tiling tools, make-up artistry boxes, grinding machines, generators, gas cylinders, grinding machines amongst others.

Speaking to the beneficiaries whose joy knew no bounds during the presentation of the empowerment items, Onwuaso congratulated them for successfully completing their trainings while charging them to effectively utilize the given tools which undoubtedly would enhance their respective economic endeavors.
Recall that in pursuant to Onwuaso’s vision of building the youths of Awka North and South, the astute lawmaker has trained, engaged and empowered over 300 youths within two years in areas such as ICT, networking, capacity building among others.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent expressed appreciation over the empowerment and skill acquisition training. Nneka Okeke, Tochukwu Igwe and Chineyere Uche promised to use their experiences to improve their living conditions and that of their society.
