The Anambra State Governor, Chief Dr Willie Obiano has called on Christians all over Nigeria especially in Anambra to show kindness on their neighbours this Christmas and in the New Year.
Obiano stated this in a special Christmas Message signed by James Eze, his Chief Press Secretary to Governor Obiano, on thursday, 24th, Dec, 2020, where he stated that alot of people were traumatized in 2020 while acknowledging that only a genuine act of kindness can heal the deep wounds inflicted caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
According to him; “throughout history, the walls that separate humanity from one another have always fallen down in times of common adversity and grief. Simple acts of kindness do not only heal broken hearts, they also give many people a hope to hold on to. When we are kind to our neighbours, we multiply our chances of surviving the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“Ndi Anambra, there’s no better time to show your communities that you care for them than now. Please, reach out and touch someone with a special act of kindness. That’s what our people are known for,”
Governor Obiano declared while further reminding the people to maintain all the COVID-19 protocols while celebrating Christmas.
Governor Obiano therefore called on Ndi Anambra to intensify their communal efforts against the pandemic during the Yuletide season as such efforts have proven to be a master stroke against the scourge.
“Ndi b’anyi, it is good to celebrate Christmas but we must not throw our lives away in the process. COVID-19 is still very much around and we must minimize the chances of exposing ourselves to it by celebrating Christmas indoors with our families and loved ones. This is not a time for unrestrained social mobility. Let’s give ourselves a chance to survive this pandemic. Let’s celebrate Christmas indoors and ensure that we wear our face masks if we must go out,” Governor Obiano further advised.
