The Special Assistant (SA) to governor Uzodimma on Social Media Influencer, Paschal Okechukwu aka Cubana chief priest has doled out 2700 phones to Imo State youths as part of empowerment to support the present administration.
Imo youths drawn across the 27 Local government Areas of the state have been empowered through digital economy with an Infinix smart phone each to aid them become soft ware engineers.
The executive governor of Imo state, senator Hope Uzodimma speaking during the flag off at Ndubuisi Kalu Square to mark the post valentine concert disclosed that his government is entitled to, through some of his appointees empower the youths who have been neglected for long and also reduce unemployment.
He noted that 2700 beneficiaries drawn from each LGA will be provided with Data and airtime to support their training in digital economy which will make them to be self reliant and improve the economy of the state.
He said, not recognizing the youths and giving them the opportunity to contribute to governance will amount to destroying the state and vowed to recover the economy through empowerment.
In his remarks, the SA said, he wants to make sure that the youths are connected to the social media and follow the trend of event. He disclosed that 100 youths were selected from each local government of the state.
Apart from the phone gifts, two youths also won a car from the event drawn from a raffle draw.
