As governorship election in Imo State draws near, palpable fear had gripped the opposition as a grassroot mobilizer, Prince Stephen Lemachi (Akaekpuchio-nwa)
who hails from Umuokeduru Village, Awarra autonomous community, Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, declared total support for the reelection of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Lemachi, who is Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Liaison Officer (GLO) for Awarra/ Ikwerede Ward, made his unalloyed support known last week in Owerri while addressing over two hundred leaders of his political structure, who he instructed to stop at nothing to smoothly return Uzodimma as Governor on November 11, 2023.
Lemachi, a frontline politician, vision driver and business mogul whose political structure cuts across Imo and Rivers States, vowed that Uzodimma shall win the election with wide margins hence he would be declared winner, describing the opposition candidates as people with less popularity.
The APC stalwart said his party is a fortunate political party which parades the most qualified candidate for the 2023 Imo Governorship election, even as he expressed satisfaction over his party’s choice of Uzodimma as its Flagbearer.
He mentioned that APC is a political party that believes in human capacity and society development, a belief he stressed has been proven by the Governor’s sterling performance which are beyond the expectations of the people.
Lemachi, an illustrious son of Ohaji and philanthropist, posited that Uzodimma’s 35 kilometers dual carriageway, Owerri/Orlu road, 55 kilometers Owerri/Okigwe road and 46 kilometers Owerri/Mbaise/Umuahia road among others are mile stones which he affirmed encourage productivity, promote trade, commerce, industry and tourism in the state.
He saluted the Shared Prosperity Government championed by Uzodimma over numerous people driven achievements with standard construction formats, hailing the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of Imo civil servants through the provision of free shuttle buses, increment of their salaries, promotion and employment that had nipped unemployment in the bud in the state especially in ISOPADEC.
Also, Lemachi applauded the APC guber candidate for “upgrading Federal Medical Center Owerri (FMC) to Federal University Teaching Hospital Owerri (FUTHO), upgrading Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education to Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, recovery of M.K.O. Mbadiwe University, Ogboko, establishment of Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo Ohaji and attraction of 3 billion naira TETFund project in UAES.
“Dredging of Orashi/Oguta River for Imo Free Trade Zone and the economic, transformation of Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH) Orlu, Ultramodern General Hospital built in Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru East by ISOPADEC, technology empowerment of Imo youths through skill- acquisition program among other achievements of the Governor” which he said will give his party candidate, Hope Uzodimma, records to beat his rivals in the guber election.
However, the GLO has equally appreciated the Governor for appointing Chief Charles Orie (Akuatuegwu) as the ISOPADEC Managing Director who he said has restored the lost glory of ISOPADEC to the fulfilment of its objectives.
He stated that the ISOPADEC indelible performance will be an added advantage to the victory of Governor Hope Uzodimma while giving his unalloyed support to the MD for the efforts he puts in place for the actualization of the second term process of the Governor.
