The newly re-elected President of National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Abia State, Comrade Ikechi Nwaigwe and his Secretary, Comrade Afolabi Abayomi have raised the alarm over the emergence of a a group of impostors claiming to represent the local government staff.
The illegal executive, against Nwaigwe, is led by one Wakasu, who claimed to be the Acting Chairman of the union.
The development is coming barely two weeks after members of the NULGE re-elected Nwaigwe as the State President in Aba.
Throwing light on the matter, Ikechi Nwaigwe insisted that there was no crisis in NULGE, saying that he was recently re-elected as the President of Abia NULGE for a fresh term in office.
He made it clear that the National President of NULGE and other executives of the national body witnessed his re-election in Aba and adjudged the process as free and fair.
Comrade Nwaigwe further said the information became necessary to save unsuspecting Abians from being duped by any person using NULGE’s name.
Also speaking, the State Secretary of the union, Comrade Afolabi Abayomi disowned the existence of any caretaker committee of NULGE in Abia and warned local government staff, Abians and general public against patronizing it.
