A senior lecturer in Imo State University, Owerri and the immediate past Chairman of Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE),Prof. Luke Okwuchukwu Uzoigwe has commended the Awuzie led judicial committee on the recovery of lands forcefully taken from citizens by the last administration.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Engr. Dr. Uzoigwe said that Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie, the former ASUU National president and the former Vice Chancellor of Imo state University Owerri has done well.
Prof Uzoigwe said that the position Awuzie is handling is best suited for him owing to his pedigree. He recalled the success of Awuzie during his tenure as ASUU president and maintained that Awuzie was able to contribute his quota in education development of the country.
He further described him as an academic gladiator who attracted lots of education projects in the higher Institutions.
He said with this, he believed in his capacity and the reports by the committee to bring sanity to the state in terms of land grabbing matter.
Owing to the over 700 lands recovered by the government and returned to the original owners, he frowned at the excesses of some politicians who amass so much wealth and properties out of greed.
He noted that people should always be contented with what they have instead of acquiring what they don’t need. He maintained that the report of the committee should be upheld as the chairman of the committee is tested and trusted to handle such position.
He therefore commended the efforts of the committee and wished them well in the discharge of their duties.
