The highest Jamb Scorer in Imo state Jamachi Osuji has been offered a scholarship by a Nongovernmental Organization, Miracle Anyanwu Foundation MAF. The offer was made during an award of academic excellence and prize giving day Organized by the foundation for Government Secondary school Owerri. Jamachi who is also a student scored an aggregate of 339 in the 2023 Jamb examination.
Speaking at the epoch making event, the convener and the founder of the foundation Dr Miracle Anyanwu offered a scholarship award from 1st year to 5th year for the chosen course of the student who want to study Engineering at FUTO.
He encouraged the students of the school to imbibe good virtues and moral standards in their academic pursuits. He emphasized on the need to put God first in every endeavours of life, stating that It’s God who helped him to become successful in life.
Dr Anyanwu who is also an Old boy of the college expressed joy over the performance of the students in various classes as it reminds him of his achievements while in secondary school as a senior prefect of the school. Addressing the participants, the principal of Government Secondary school Owerri, Mr Anyikwa SC stated that the student got the best result out of merit and not through malpractice as the boy is popular for his good academic performance right from his junior class which has gotten him lots of prizes and awards from various individuals and stakeholders.
The principal also seized the opportunity to advise parents to train their children properly and provide the necessary academic material that will aid them in their Education. He thanked the founder of the Foundation and the Old boys for restoring the lost glory of the school and urged them not to relent in their efforts. Speaking to News echo, the beneficiary Master Jamachi Osuji said that he attributes his success to God who has helped him throughout his academic pursuits.
He added that hard work and discipline pays. He also prayed God to bless the Foundation for affecting lives. He also urged other students to avoid distraction and be focused in their studies to be able to achieve success.
The elated father of the student, Rev Blessing Osuji expressed delight over the honor the son brought to him and the school. He encouraged other students to be patient and work hard to achieve success and also thanked the foundation for their kind gesture. Highlight of the event was the award of excellence to the principal and some teachers of the school as well as cash reward for academic performance of some students of the school.
