It was a moment of gratitude at Alienyi Mgbidi last weekend as the founder of Maranathan University Mgbidi, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ngubo made public, the provisional license for the opening of another faith based University in Imo.
The inaugural thanksgiving service which took place at the University hall witnessed attendance of who is who in the religious and academic world as the founder appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the project, appreciating God Almighty for the goodness upon his life which he replicated by offering four years scholarship to first three indigenes of Mgbidi that will enroll in the school.
Speaking also was the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the school, Prof. Ogwu E. Ogwu who reiterated that the University apart from business of preaching the gospel will produce graduates who will not only be trained in learning but also in character.
He pointed out that starting a school of such magnitude appear casual but insisted that it is a services project as the Professor of marketing intoned that Maranathan University will go places because God is involved in its day to day affairs.
The former Abia State University Vice Chancellor, Ogwu harped that his students will be treated with love that must be coated with discipline, promising that welfare of staff and students can never be joked with.
