The Federal Government College Okigwe Old Students Association (FEGOCOOKOSA) has held its 10th annual national convention stressing that quality education is key to development.

Welcoming all to the event that took place in Owerri, the Chairman of FEGOCOOKOSA, Owerri Chapter, Barr. Martin Njoku, said the association has been united and waxing strong having achieved much for its alma mater aimed at encouraging quality education which he mentioned is key to development. He promised that his leadership will continue to bring the chapter together to achieve more goodies for the association and the college.

The National President of FEGOCOOKOSA, Alabo Tonye Ojoko Phd, disclosed that every yearly gathering of the alumni association was to celebrate “our heritage, our common past and our illustrious future. We know with certainty that every single individual that traversed the four walls of Federal Government College Okigwe is destined for greatness and is deserving of celebration. As we mark yet another convention, we congratulate ourselves in the journey so far because a decade in the life of any individual or organization is a landmark worthy of celebration. It is usually a time to remember how far one has come and plan for how far one intends to go”.

Stressing that all members of FEGOCOOKOSA are well determined to achieve more goals to lifting the association, Ojoko who was reelected as the National President of FEGOCOOKOSA, advised them to continue to be united and committed to “ensuring that the Pro-Unitate Spirit that binds us together transcends mere words to action in our daily interactions within our great association, FEGOCOOKOSA”.

However, the reelected National Vice President of FEGOCOOKOSA, Chief Peter Anyanwu, who said the association has done its best to give back to the school the quality education it gave to them, hinted that the alumni has done a lot for its alma mater especially by building and donating hostel bloc, donated science equipments, restored water reticulation, e- library among others to strengthen teaching and learning in the school.
