Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili has been appointed by Prof. Charles Soludo, Anambra incoming governor as the head of transition team ahead of his takeover from incumbent governor, Willie Obiano.
Soludo, an ex-CBN governor and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared winner of the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra, having defeated his closest rivals, PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo APC’s Andy Uba had 43,285 votes.
While the governor-elect is yet to make a formal announcement, official sources familiar with the development informed our correspondent that Prof Soludo who would be sworn in as the state governor in March has appointed transition members, with Mrs Ezekwesili being the head.
Confirming the report, a press release signed and made available to newsmen by the Media Assistant to Prof. Chukwuma C. Soludo, Mr, Joe Anatune said “this is to announce the constitution of a Transition Committee which will liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration as from 17th March, 2022”
The transition team’s inauguration, according to the sources, will hold on January 20, at Agulu Lake (Golden Tulip) hotels in Anambra.
