The Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka last Friday inaugurated a multipurpose sixty five self contained office building complex and its ultra modern car wash centre.
The event, which took place during the weekend within the Faculty of Management Sciences complex, attracted the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Osimone, experts in Management, Directors, Deans, Staff as well as Students of the faculty among other guests and dignitaries.
Speaking to news men shortly after the inauguration, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Lilian Obiageli Orogbu, expressed optimism that it was a dream come true. She noted that the building which will house many offices and eateries will aim at satisfying the needs of the University community for effective academic delivery.
“Before I started the campaign I had to look out for the needs of the faculty and discovered that as the biggest faculty with large number of students, it lacked adequate rooms for staff and students and that motivated me to support the university by reaching out to benefactors for support”.
“We are expecting a two floors facility with 65 offices spaces, each with self contained according to the requirement.
Business centre conference room and restaurants with best delicacies. Considering the nature of the project it will cost around 130 million”.
She added that the ultra-complex which is designed also to house mini-hall would be fully completed and inaugurated before the end of the year
Mr. Nnamdi Osondu, the faculty’s administrative officer and Secretary to the building committee noted that the project was borne out of the Dean’s desire to provide more accommodation to staff adding that the building will also house mini conference hall where post graduate students and undergraduates will carry out their academic presentations.
Beside this is the ultramodern car Wash named ‘FMS Car Wash Centre aimed at delivering quality services and boosting Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the faculty which is termed to be first of its kind within the university environment.
