Anambra State Government has announced the extension of school recess for all nursery, primary and secondary schools, to further notice.
The state government also informed all principals, headteachers, teachers, parents and stakeholders, including students to comply with the directives.
A statement made available by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic Education, Mr Linus Nwankwo.
“This is to bring to the notice of all concerned, especially parents, education stakeholders, principals, headteachers, teachers, pupils, students etc., that the current recess of schools is hereby extended till further notice.
“By this announcement, all public, private and mission schools in Anambra state are to remain on recess until further notice”.
Mr Nwankwo also noted that the ministry will embark on the evaluation of activities happening in the state, so as to ensure the safety of the children when school resumes.
“An assessment of the situation will be done by Wednesday, October 28. This is being done in the interest of the safety of our school children.
“All are directed to please comply”, the release concluded.
