Officers of the Nigerian police command attached to Nnewi Area command in collaboration with local vigilante have arrested one Chiemezie Kenneth Aligu for the alleged robbery of Honda CUB50 motorcycle.
The twenty four-old year suspect who hails from Ebonyi State but resident at Abubor Nnewichi in Nnewi North LGA, had on Monday, in the morning robbed a certain young man of his motorcycle at gun point at Opkuno Otolo in Nnewi, News Echo gathered.
According to a source, luck ran out of him when the local vigilante on receiving a call rushed to scene and apprehended him, while angry mob descended on him before the police arrived and took him away.
Confirming the arrest, police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, in a statement made available to the press said that;
“On the 7/12/2020 at about 9:am,there was a distress call that suspected armed robber allegedly snatched a Honda CUB50 at Okpuno Otolo in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State”.
“Following the distress call, Police operatives attached to Nnewi Area Command and Otolo Division in conjunction with Egbumuenem vigilante group Otolo quickly mobilised to the scene and arrested one Chiemezie Kenneth Aligu ‘m’ aged
