Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has berated the carnage and mayhem unleashed on the state by those he termed ‘group of bloodletting explorers’, claiming to be ENDSARS protesters. He reiterated that the 24-hour curfew he imposed on the state was still in force.

The governor made his feelings known in a state-wide broadcast on Thursday, October 22.

He said the arsonists were on a vicious mission and that their actions have set the state backwards as it will take huge state finance to rebuild what they have destroyed, even as those security personnel murdered in cold blood will never come back to life.

He expressed the sympathy of the state government to victims of the attacks and families of the bereaved, promising that the long arm of the law will surely catch up with the perpetrators.

He urged Imo people to remain calm, promising that the state government will do everything necessary to protect lives of law abiding citizens and restated that the 24-hour curfew was still very much in force and directed security agents to enforce the curfew to the later, adding that anyone seen outside as the curfew lasts should be treated as one of the sponsors and perpetrators of the violence in the state.
