Residents of Ihiagwa and Umuoma Nekede communities of Owerri West, have urged Imo State government to quickly construct their deplorable road to ease movement, as well as strengthen economic activities with a view to reducing poverty and insecurity at the areas.
The people made the call through Osinachi Amadi, Unanka Damian and Duru Iheanyi while speaking with News Echo on Wednesday at Umuoma Nekede during an interview.

Osinachi Amadi who is an indigene of Ihiagwa community and a teacher, urged “government to come back to site and complete the road to make movement easier, as well as strengthen economic activities at Ihiagwa. Over the years, we have been suffering and spending a lot of money due to the deplorable road”.
Just as Unanka Damian and Duru, residents of Umuoma Nekede community and farmers, appealed to Imo State government to ensure that it fulfills its promise made to the people during the recently held Imo stakeholders meeting of completing the Naze/Nekede/Umuoma/Ihiagwa road.
They regretted that the “deplorable road is causing untold hardship for residents of Umuoma Nekede and others who use the road”, urging government to march its words with action to relieve them from untold hardship being caused by the bad road.
