2022 Amaimo August meeting: Imo Deputy Governor charges women on community development

The deputy governor of Imo state Prof. Placid Njoku has tasked women to continue to support the development of their community by discussing issues that would positively chart the cause of their their families and the community in general during their annual August meeting.

The deputy governor stated this while speaking in his hometown during the Home and abroad August meeting of Aladinma women in Amaimo Ancient Kingdom of Ikeduru LGA.

The deputy governor accompanied by his wife, Dr. Bola noted that the state has witnessed tremendous development in the area of road rehabilitation and reconstruction, especially the Owerri-Okigwe Road, among others and informed the women that the lingering problem over the Traditional Prime Minister position in the area has been resolved.

The wife of the deputy governor, Dr. Bola Njoku who was honoured with an award of “Oso di eme 1” of Amaimo Ancient Kingdom by the women, expressed delight for the award of recognition given to her and urged them to sustain the unity existing among them, just as she urged them to always be part of the wife of the governor’s welfare programmes for women in the state.

In a welcome address, the president of the women, Mrs. Phil Anyanwu had among information and requests, appealed for support in completing their secretariat complex and assisting indigent women among them as part of their program for the community.

The Traditional ruler of the community, HRM Eze Godwin Ehirim Nwaebo also urged the women as a veritable part of the family to assist their husbands in the upbringing and education of their children, this he said will make up for a good community.
He also advised that parents and the youths should be patriotic and ensure they contribute to governance by casting their votes that will elect leaders who will make the country and the state better.

Earlier, the Traditional Prime Minister of Amaimo Ancient kingdom High chief Justin Nwabueze Awurum who received an award by the women as the Omereaha 1 of Amaimo Ancient kingdom thanked the women for their contribution towards the growth and development of the community. The prime Minister who has become instrumental to the development of the community with his philanthropic nature pledged to continue to support the women and the entire community to make it a pride in the entire Ikeduru clan. Also speaking a son of the community and a councilor hopeful Mr Kennedy Anozie thanked the women for their contribution so far and urged them never to relent in promoting peace and Unity in the entire ancient kingdom. He also reminded the women to support his political ambition, this he said will endear him to contribute meaningfully to governance and attract dividends of democracy to the area.

The president general of Amaimo Ancient Kingdom, Prince Emma Alaribe thanked God for the success of the annual August meeting and noted that the community would not experience total development without the support and contribution of the women. He equally appreciated the deputy governor of Imo state who graced the occasion and thanked him for his immense contribution to the growth of the community.
