GOD’S MERCY
Before I go ahead in this week’s edition which is titled, “God’s Mercy”, permit me to briefly explain what l meant in my last week edition where l said ‘There are testimonies that are confidential’.
Some of my jolly good mothers called me for explanations.
Yes, there are confidential testimonies. First what does confidential means, it simply means something to be kept secret within a certain circle of persons, and something not intended to be known publicly.
I believe we all know what testimony is all about. It means an account of first-hand experience.
It could be said in a Church, in a family meeting or assembly and it should be said among the trusted brethren; where envy and jealousy do not exist.
Now after explaining what confidential and testimonies meant, let me therefore tell us what l meant by confidential testimonies.
A man won an American Visa to travel abroad and he has two weeks to prepare his papers before traveling.
Within these two weeks of putting his papers in order, will it be wise or appropriate for the man to come out in Church to testify that he has got an American Visa and he is on it now – in the next two weeks or thereabout, he will be leaving Nigeria to America, absolutely No…. Such should be kept secret. A good testimony though yet it should be confidential.
Another example, a young lady before getting married tested HIV positive, and she believed in the works of Christ for her healing. Constantly praying for God’s Divine healing and Grace. And one day she went back to hospital and tested negative of the dreaded disease even as a young lady.
My sister, do you think it will be wise for this very Lady to come out in the Assembly of God’s children to testify of this very great testimony. No and No. It should be kept secret.
Secretly thanking God for such an awesome deed from God. This is because with the type of society we are into, people will not even believe that she has been made whole and the chance of getting married will be tiny, but before God alone testimony goes.
One of my Rev. Fathers once told us (mothers be wise), so my fellow mothers, let us be wise! No matter how much you love your husband, will you one day tell your beloved husband, darling really our God is good – He delivered me six (6) times abortion process l encountered before getting married. My dear, it’s an error. Another confidential testimony, between you and your God testimony flows.
There are a lot of confidential testimonies but for want of time, let me forge ahead in today’s topic as stated above.
My darling, have you encountered God’s Mercy before. As for me, l am God’s Mercy personified. Mothers are God’s last born.
After Adam was created, we are the last. Hence, He does not play with us, how wonderful and beautiful we are in the sight of God. You were born safely from your mother’s womb, God’s Mercy. During your suckling periods, God kept you alive.
In your crawling days, God did not allow you to inflict injuries on yourself, Mercy. Oh while learning to walk, you did not break any part of your body, Mercy of God, throughout your tender years (3 – 6), you were moving unconsciously into the world of the unknown, yet God kept you alive.
Your primary, secondary and tertiary school days, you made it, God’s Mercy. Do we really merit it, No and No. It’s only by His Grace that e are alive in the land of the Living.
Have you shown gratitude to God. Please let us appreciate God for whom He is. He is Mightier than the mightiest. Mothers are specially made.
Taking care of even the difficult husbands without complaining is God’s Mercy. Some mothers take care of homes in conjunction with official duties, Mercy. At night – when troubles of life keep us awake, thinking how to handle family issues yet at dawn, moves stronger and stronger tackling such challenges, God’s Mercy.
When a young mother loses a dear husband at an early stage of her marriage, you see that woman being stronger for the children, God’s Mercy. In my last edition, l hailed mothers and l called them the strongest. Indeed, you are the strongest.
Troubles of life melt at your kneeling point, that is why it is said that a kneeling mother is a winning Mother. Mothers, kneel to God and you will see things change for your favour. There is nothing too difficult in life, it is only to be learnt. Learn how to pray and you will see how the walls of Jericho fall down.
Real mothers earn God’s Mercy, through showing Mercy to those that deserves it. You earn God’s Mercy by differentiating yourself from worldliness. The Bible says, though we are in the world but we are not of the world. Don’t allow material things to control you. Don’t compare yourself with others.
You are wonderfully and specially created, so why the comparison. We are God’s image, pure and sanctified. It’s just for us to know whom we are, the carriers of God’s Mercy. Search your mind, do you have grudge against anyone, it’s an error.
Let it go, as it goes, you are doing good to yourself. Remember to err is human and to forgive is divine. So forgive and move forward, you are God’s Love. Do you engage yourself with vain talks, please stop.
Do you shout or scold when you are supposed to admonish. Do you condemn people easily: remember before the sight of God, no one is worthy. So let us imbibe the habit of staying with the Godly. It helps our spiritual life.
God’s willing by next week we shall discuss another soul lifting topic. Shalom.
