Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has said that his government has made effort to redefine the idea of good governance in the state.
The governor who stated this on Saturday when he met with stakeholders in the state, gave out a list of 46 road projects that are either on-going or completed by his administration. He mentioned other significant projects being undertaken by the government to include the Owerri junction improvement works and urban renewal projects, the dualization of Owerri-Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe Roads.

He berated those he called criminal elements whom he said have been trying so hard to sabotage government’s effort to guarantee a safe Imo State, alleging that most of the militants who terrorized the state recently are non Igbo, but imported from other parts of the country by some opposition political elements to destabilize security in the state.

“I want Imo people to know that what the desperate politicians want to achieve is to pitch Imo people against the federal government. They want the federal government to believe that another Biafra war has started from Imo State. Thank God that this callous plot has failed because the federal government knows better.
He said the military in Orlu have been keeping to the rules of engagement, adding that Orlu is calm, as there is no war being waged against Orlu people or Igbos.

On the issue of Okorocha, he said the former governor, imported thugs to the state on a Sunday morning when people were in churches worshipping God and decided to take laws into his hands by breaking into a property sealed by the state government which was in adherences to the white paper of Judicial Commission of Inquiry on lands and other related matters.

“Because he has become richer than the state government as he publicly stated recently, he now sees himself as a god who can do and undo at will.
“We should join hands together and work for the progress and wellbeing of our people. Our glorious journey is on course and our shared prosperity agenda will surely put smiles again on the faces of our people”.
