He noted that the culprits intend to hold a courtesy visit to the inspector general of police to report the purported security challenges in the state with the claim that Imo state government is overwhelmed by the security challenges therefore a state of emergency should be declared in the state.
Emelumba stated that these elements have been the brain behind the security challenges that have bedeviled the state in the recent past.
He noted that their aim is to paint a picture to the Federal government that Imo state is ungovernable and going through serious security threats. He added that this plot was conceived using the recent killings especially the death of two traditional rulers from Njaba LGA.
He further disclosed that the government and the security agencies are poised to nip in the bud any further outbreak of security breaches as he issued a stern warning to perpetrators of the dastardly act or their collaborators to desist from such act culpable of disturbing the peace and stability experienced in the state.
He noted that since the United Kingdom did not include Imo as a state that is under threat as a security advice to travelers hence any other propaganda should not be taken serious.
