Governor Hope Uzodimma, has been reminded of the need to appoint some persons who worked and supported him during and after the 2019 poll especially those who stood by him during court processes.
Uzodimma has also been advised to emulate former governors of the state who extended their appointments to all the court Areas of Ngor-Okpala who contributed immensely to the success of their administrations.
Prince Macdonald Enwere, Media Aide to the former Secretary to Imo State Government, Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha, in his statement on “Appointment on Ngor-Okpala: who is advising Uzodimma”, made available to newsmen in Owerri, on Monday, told Uzodimma to look inward as to reward his Ngor-Okpala loyalists who threw their wait on him during the election and court processes, regretting that few who have been in government and those who never worked for him nor spent money were given appointment at the detriment of core loyalists.
Stating that Ngor-Okpala has intelligent and development oriented persons who have made positive marks to the development of Ngor-Okpala and Imo State at large. Enwere reflected that the “central truth remains that the history of good governance in the state will not be complete without reference to the salient roles of Ngor -Okpala sons and daughters who served in different administrations in the state in the past as political office holders”.
According to him, “the success story is that over the years, political appointments in Ngor- Okpala have enjoyed a reflective spread in Ngor Okpala political geometry. Obviously, Ngor-Okpala is a large local government area with five court areas as Igba, Obike, Okwe, Onyeaghalanwanneya and Mbaishii.
He stressed that Achike Udenwa, Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha regimes saw a reflective spread in political appointments and wondered why Uzodimma’s would be different with lopsided appointment.
He said Uzodimma needs to be properly advised on the infractions in his political appointment in Ngor-Okpala, saying if this anomaly is not corrected soon, the political consequences will be colossal and may be too late to correct, warning that “a stitch in time saves nine. Ngor Okpala deserves the best”.
