The two-term former Governor of Imo State and sitting Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha on friday hosted the National Forum for SouthEast Presidency at his state-of-the-art resident in Owerri, the State Capital.

Sen Rochas hosted the National Forum for South East Presidency in his preparation to declare his interest in the presidential race. He stressed how much he has gone in uniting Nigeria even when he had no interest in the seat of presidency.

The senator declared that “If any presidential aspirant has done something in bringing Nigerians together and putting smiles on the faces of Nigerian children across the six geopolitical zones more than himself i will step aside for the person.” He said it in relation to how he has engaged in much philanthropy across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

He admonished that there is no aspect of his life that shows tribalism/ nepotism. “I was a businessman before I became a Governor, and I know how to build or rebuild an economy. Most of the people that are contesting are not self made but government made people, that is why I am unique.”

Sen Rochas further maintained that Justice demands that an Igbo man (southeastern) should be the next president of this great country considering the circumstances surrounding the country presently. “Igbos are good Nigerians, in any town or village that you visit in Nigeria and did not see an Igbo man, it means that place is not human habitable” Owelle affirmed.

Also speaking, the Convenor of NFSEP, Dr. Patrick Enuneke noted that for the agitation for secession to end, and to boost the dead economy of Nigeria, a southeasterner needs to be the next president of Nigeria.

Adding that the organization irrespective of the canvassing for the next president of Nigeria from the Southeast, has three cardinal criteria in supporting any presidential aspirant from the southeast zone, which are: A person who can stabilize the economy of Nigeria, The person must have the financial muscle for a national election, The person that has the capacity to provide the much needed visionary leadership Nigeria needs now.

Among the dignitaries present during the occasion includes Dr. Charles, National Publicity; Hon. Patrick Nwogu, National Org. Sec., Usman Bello Shelleng, Adamawa Rep.; Hon. Ngene Innocent, Ebonyi State Chairman; Gazzali Usman, Kano Rep.; Mallam Musa Shallam among others.
