Leaders of Thought from Okigwe zone have assured the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA), Rt. Hon. Barr Kennedy Ibeh, of their maximum support and advice.
They made the promise when the leaders visited the Speaker in his office.
Chief Stanford Onyirimba, who led the delegation, said that the Rt. Hon. Speaker started well by returning the lost glory to Imo State House of Assembly. He said that as a former majority leader in the House, he knows when the Assembly becomes vibrant and when it is not.
He hailed the Speaker for remembering to seek the partnership and support of Okigwe leaders.
A former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Maxwell Duru, who was also part of the delegation, described Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh as a man well equiped for the job.
He expressed joy that the Speaker had always extended the hands of fellowship and brotherliness to Rt. Hon Paul Emeziem while he was the Speaker. He advised that the House should consider the recall of the suspended law makers.
Also, Chief Eddy Anyanwu, former Imo State Chairman of PDP, who also added his voice, expressed the readiness of the leaders to work with Mr. Speaker and ensure that he succeeds.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Kennedy Ibeh, thanked the leaders and requested their continued support. He recalled how he admired their political leadership in their various positions and prayed that he will one day contribute his own quota to the growth of the society.
He told them how he approached the former speaker and informed him of his willingness to work with him only for his name to appear among the suspended members subsequently.
