The chairman of the Imo State Transport Security Biometric Capture and Painting, Elder Anaelechi Ukanwune has lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma over his achievements as he celebrated his two years in office.

Ukanwune reiterated his support to the Governor as he explained that the 3R Government has lived up to its mandate.

He disclosed that the Governor has incorporated the commercial drivers in the scheme of things in his administration which he said was not done by past administration. He maintained that the recent free 25 litres of fuel donated to thousands of commercial drivers during the Christmas period and after was the first of its kind.

While expressing thanks to the Governor for equally employing some of the drivers to work for the government, he stated that the government made the transport system free from the previous bottlenecks.

According to him, there is massive infrastructural development in the state such as road construction, installation of traffic lights, construction of modern roundabouts for free flow of traffic, amongst others.

Ukanwune who is also the president of Imo state Amalgamated Drivers Association said the issue of touts has been handled by the governor as any case of touting is strictly dealt with without delay by the present administration.

He mentioned that the introduction of biometric capturing for the drivers has also reduced cases of kidnapping and insecurity experienced in the state, especially that he disclosed that the directive by the government for commercial drivers to rebrand their vehicles with the state colour code of Blue and white is a giant feat by the governor as the issue has been a contention with the past administration.

On the issue of insecurity he maintained that the governor has done well even in the face of security challenges that has bedevilled the state, as he said, that the governor tried his best not to allow the security issues to escalate but has done well in ensuring peace and calm in the state.
