The Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries of Imo State over the alleged refusal of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, to show concern over their unpaid arrears of pensions and gratuities amounting to a total of two billion, five hundred and fifty million, three hundred and thirty thousand, five hundred and forty nine, twenty kobo (2550,330,549.20).

The Chairman of the Association, Chief (Dr.) R. C. O. Ezeogu, stated this, last Wednesday, in his address, during association’s 2021 End of Year party, at Imo Senior Citizen Center, located at Amakohia, along Orlu road.

While, pointing out the difficulties hedging their gratuities and arrears of pensions, Ezeogu said the association has written several letters to the State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, over the daunting issues of gratuities and arrears of pensions without receiving any form of acknowledgement from the governor even when according to him, they were sure the letter met the addressed office and were received.

In his words; “The inability of the State Government to reply to letters sent to it justifies the contention that our dear governor is not willing to pay”
“We therefore, call on APC as a party and the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly to consider it absolutely necessary to request His Excellency, the Executive Governor to swiftly pay our entitlements. It is long over-due.” Chief Ezeogu submitted.

He also appealed with the HOS to provide them with office accommodation and as well extend their plea to the Executive Governor, on the need for a unity bus to enable them ease of transportation hurdles.
