The All Progressives Congress (APC), Imo State under the leadership of Hon. (Sir) Macdonald Kelechi Ebere, PhD, has described as false, news reported in one of the newspapers in Owerri (not News Echo) that “mass resignation looms in Imo APC following abandonment by leaders”.
In a release signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Cajetan Duke and made a available to newsmen, it noted, “Ordinarily, it is not our style to respond or react to such pedestrian, inconsequential and barefaced lie deliberately planted to undermine the soaring popularity of our great party, however, for the benefit of the teeming members of our party in the state and the public, we are once again constrained to dismiss in its entirety, such an unfortunate and unfounded story.
Contrary to such baseless insinuations, our party, the All Progressives Congress, Imo State chapter, is getting stronger, more vibrant, more popular and surely more attractive courtesy of the people oriented policies and programmes of the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the executive governor of Imo State and the leader of our great party.
It is important to state in unequivocal terms, that the emergence of Sir Ebere as the state chairman of our party and his team, has further strengthened the foundation of APC in the state, following the wide enthusiasm and excitement from party faithful, that heralded his victory. It was unprecedented!
We are surprised and alarmed that professionally stuffed media outfit like The Trumpeta, could fell into the shoby trap of yellow journalism. However, our party will continue to advocate and encourage media professionals to uphold the ethics of the noble profession that promotes fair and balance news reportage at all times.
Our party under the new leadership of Hon. Ebere promises to run a media friendly political administration with unlimited open door policy.
