Former Deputy Governor of Imo State and Executive Chairman of Imo State Universal Basic Education Board (IMSUBEB), Her Excellency, Lady Dr. Ada Okwuonu, has advised women to always exhibit virtue of good conduct while being submissive wives and caring mothers in order to produce responsible children who will propagate a peaceful and progressive society.
Okwuonu gave this advise when the Imo State chapter of the Standup for Women Society (SWS) visited her in her office, last week, in Owerri.
She told women to believe in their abilities to enable them move on, urging the SWS to showcase good manners, be strengthened and motivated to liberate others, adding that poverty will be eradicated from the society if they work hard, pledging to support them in due time to achieve more success.
Earlier in her speech, the SWS Chairperson, Liberator Meg Odinaka, congratulated Her Excellency on her appointment as IMSUBEB Executive Chairman, informing that “SWS advocates for women to be in better positions and be included in the making of governmental policies to bring about changes in the society.
With the SWS State Women Coordinator, Liberator Assumpta Ukaegbu, adding that SWS is a conglomeration of women with vision and mission to advocate the rights and development of women to bring attitudinal changes in women to enable them actively participate in planning, developing and actualizing policies in commerce, industry, agriculture and politics.
