Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in Abuja, Hon. Chief Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe (Akaoma Jide Aku) has taken the bull by the horn by sponsoring over forty (40) constituents and political allies for a special trip to Egypt where the beneficiaries will receive training on “Dry Season Agricultural program ”
Senior Special Adviser on media and publicity to Hon. Chief. Chinedu Benjamin Obidigwe, (MHR) Dominic Okagbue noted that the gesture is in line with Akaoma’s Green Revolution agenda for the teeming youths and women of his constituency and even beyond occasioned by the need to introduce young people into mechanized agricultural practices, research, training and the use of technology in agricultural production for both dry and rainy season agriculture (including irrigational system).
“In his burning desire for all inclusive representation where everyone within the constituency adequately benefits in the distribution of his democratic dividends, Hon. Obidigwe had effectively and judiciously reflected all communities and wards in Anambra East and West and even beyond to benefit in this gesture as the selection of participants were done fairly”.
Meanwhile, Hon. Obidigwe has equally announced his unbiased intension to make the first set of 40 persons that will be trained in Egypt millionaires within the year 2022 and offer them other technical support to enable them take-off.
He equally declared his intention to process and send additional fifty (50) constituents to
Dubai Emirate shortly after the return of the Egyptian batch.
This second group shall be introduced into series of business opportunities and trade options after which they shall be empowered and supported to establish small scale businesses of their choice.
Recall that Anambra East and West Federal Constituency is mainly an agrarian zone and much of the agricultural activities are carried out during the rainy season. However, due to the shallowness of the Omambala River, flood disasters have been the most challenging phenomenon the zone is faced with in the recent times as billions of naira is being wasted annually due to flooding.
