Chairman, Ohaji/Egbema, Agwa Adapalm Landlord Association, Mr Kyrian Ojiaku, says Adapalm is now functioning effectively having been 80% restored by the current General Manager of the plantation industry, Hon Goddy Esom Obodo, who is an industrious ndigene of Amafo of Umunwakwu community, Ohaji.

Ojiaku disclosed this in an interview with journalists during the occasion of the lunching of a rich entrepreneurship book written by the GM of Adapalm, Hon Goddy Esom Obodo, which took place at the All Seasons Hotel, Owerri, recently.

He affirmed that Adapalm has been repositioned for real and serious business having been generating big revenue to the state government, saying in few months coming more proceeds will be massively gained from the plantation.

The association stressed that out of the general managers of Adapalm appointed so far only Obodo has made the people of Ohaji/Egbema and Agwa proud through his numerous achievements in the industry, positing that Obodo has performed beyond expectations, averring before his appointment as Adapalm GM, the plantation was not functioning, it was almost moribund, the Nucleus areas of the multi billion naira industry was mercilessly abandoned for animals to live.

“When Obodo came in, the mill was not functioning well, but today the mill is working at least up to 80 percent. The nucleus estate was abandoned, non of those earlier appointed touched that place, they left it for python and other wild animals. We thank God that Obodo went in there and developed the firm. No need to boast, go there, you will see 24 hours power supply through solar energy, water supply among others”.

Ojiaku recalled that Obodo in his days as lawmaker made sure that his people secure employment, reiterating that Ohaji/Egbema, Agwa landlords have given credit to him for a job well done, as he thanked Uzodimma for Obodo’s appointment, adding that he is a great man in whom they are well pleased.

He urged the Governor to appoint son of the soil and member of the Landlord Association in his next appointment of Adapalm Management especially the post of General Manager or leave them with no choice than to reject anyone who is not from the catchment areas. On the issue of stealing of palm products at the plantation, Ojiaku stated that the solution lies on government to employ people from the catchment areas as security, not leaving the people to employ others from far areas.
