Many youths and families across South East and South South Regions will soon be lifted out of poverty as a Brazilian based football club, Brazuca Soccer Academy, has concluded plans to train and export young minds with football skills to Brazil where their talents will be harnessed and given the opportunity to play in multi- rich soccer clubs in Europe, America and Asia.
This cheering tidings was disclosed by the General Manager of Brazuca Soccer Academy and ex- international player, Casmir Mbachu, in Owerri, on Wednesday, during the official unveiling of the academy.
He hinted that Brazuca Soccer Academy is targeted at taking 20 players each year from Nigeria to Brazil, explaining that 9 players had already left for Brazil on 10th of August 2022 to pursue their career in football, while 11 players more are remaining to complete the number for the year, hence they decided to bring Brazuca Soccer Academy to Imo State.
“We just started. We have gotten everything including professional outfits. We have gotten a couch, Kelvin Onwana, who is going to torture the players. But I bet you, by next week, it is going to be a different ballgame. We are not collecting any money from anybody. If you are here and you have talent, we will help you to harness your skill and take you to the highest place of football in the world, which is Brazil, from there you can still go to Quarter, Asia, Europe and America, depending on the kind of talent you have”, Mbachu stressed.
The General Manager, who noted that the “CEO of Brazuca Soccer Academy, Henry Obinna Nworah, an Abia State indigene, is based in Brazil and has a lot of international footballers he works with. So, moving our players out of the shores of this country is not going to be a problem”, added that Brazuca Soccer Academy also has branches in Nairobi, Kenya, Zambia and Lagos State.
“Because we have a mission to add values to the society through soccer, the academy will not leave any stone unturned to bring forth youths with soccer abilities, train them and push them to stardom. Any family who has a football player, poverty has left his family. It will be my pleasure that through this academy some people and families are better off. So, being a football person who knows the rudiment of football, we will get the best of players. We are spreading our tentacles across Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia and Rivers States”.
Stating that their players would be taken care of, the GM called on those with football talents to show up and benefit from the empowerment, saying they want to give back to the society what it gave them.
