To maintain effective security of lives and properties in Imo communities, traditional rulers of the state have sought to work in synergy with the Nigerian Police Force.
Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Institution, HRM, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, of Amaifeke Orlu, in an interview with journalists at the Eze’s Palace, Mbari Street, Owerri, on Monday, shortly after meeting with the Nigerian Police Force, stated that the monarchs deemed it necessary to work in synergy with the police to ensure effective security at various communities of Imo State for enhanced peace and social economic prosperity.
Eze Okeke who is also the Chairman of Imo State Community Policing, pleaded with the police to always work and cooperate with various traditional rulers to protect monarchs from any attack who he said were threatened by bandits.
“Let police work cordially with the traditional rulers to be able to arrest and flush out bad eggs in the communities for total peace and comfort. Although the meeting was shifted to a later date so that the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) would be fully involved”, Eze Okeke added.
Disclosing that the monarchs had earlier met with the Civil Defense who promised to work cordially with the communities on effective security of lives and properties, Eze Okeke lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma on his activeness in providing tight security to Imo citizens.
“Governor Hope Uzodimma is Godsent to Imo people who is determined to safeguarding and developing the state. He is intelligent and generously wise. The insecurity in Imo State was as a result of unhealthy political fight by the opposition who are against the gains of the shared prosperity administration. Imo is fast developing under the watch of Uzodimma whom monarchs will continue to support to fully recover Imo”.
