In a bid to reduce the high rate of criminality and other social vices in Anambra state, the Commissioner of Police, Awķa Command, CP Tony Olofu, wished to assure members of the public, particularly Anambra citizens of enhanced security of lives and property in the state.

CP Olofu disclosed this on Sunday in a press statement signed and made available to journalist by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.

According to the report, “This is in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba on a rejig and stabilization of the security order across the country”.

However, the Command has evolved new crime fighting strategies to dominate the public space and checkmate acts of criminality.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Tony Olofu further assures that the Command is committed to working with other sister security agencies to secure the state and reduce crimes to the barest minimum”.

“To achieve this, the Command shall appreciate individual and collective efforts of all stakeholders towards supporting the Police in sustaining security, peace, law and order”.

Meanwhile, “Members of the public are enjoined to be vigilant, law-abiding and to promptly report any act of criminality or breach of public peace to the nearest police station or call the Command’s emergency hotlines, 112, 07039194332, 08039334002.
