President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the conferment of National Honours Award of Commander of the order of the Niger, CON on Governor David Nweze Umahi. The Special Assistant to Governor Umahi on Media and Strategy Mr Chooks Oko who disclosed this in a statement in Abakaliki said the approval was contained in a letter forwarded to the Governor by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume.
According to the statement: “The Minister in the letter emphasized that the choice of Engineer Umahi for this prestigious National Honours Award was sequel to the Governor’s unequalled track record of efficiency within seven years in office.” “The investiture of the Governor and other deserving Nigerians is slated to hold in Abuja on Tuesday October 11, 2022”, the statement concluded.
