The wife of the APC presidential candidate Senator Oluremi Tinubu has called on South East women to shun religious bias and vote for his husband Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to become the next Nigerian president.
She disclosed this as the APC women presidential campaign team visited Owerri. She disclosed that Nigerians should not pay much attention to religious or tribal sentiment but should vote for the best candidate who has the fear of God, whether a Muslim or a Christian.
She maintained that the APC administration promises to invest in human capital development through women and youth empowerment hence giving the youths and women a future.
She disclosed that against notions that she hates the ibos, she and her husband has several affilliation with the Ibos both home and in the diaspora and appealed for unity among different tribes in the country as she maintained that Tinubu has already promised to make Imo State an Industrial hub in Nigeria.
He disclosed that Imo state and the entire south east has alot to benefit if Tinubu emerges the next president.
In his speech, the governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma encouraged Imo women and women from the other south eastern states to support the Tinubu/ Shettima presidency, this he said is in the best interest of Ndigbo.
Uzodimma maintained that he does not support the agitation for Ibos to separate from the south as he believes that the Ibos are better in a united Nigeria.
The governor adviced that the south east should not take drastic decision that will will be detrimental to the entire Ibo race but to avoid a repeat of what happened during the civil war where lives and properties were lost.
He maintained that the APC is in control of the Federal government and over 22 states hence the possibility of winning elections across board during the forthcoming elections.
The wife of the Imo state governor, Barr. Chioma Uzodinma in her speech encouraged the women who she believes constitutes the voting majority to vigorously campaign and Mobilize votes in favour of the party across the south east.
She maintained that Tinubu will continue in the already established APC government and make some improvement where there are lapses.
She noted that the APC government under President Buhari has brought more dividends of democracy to the south east more than other administrations and assured that the APC administration if voted into power in the forthcoming elections promises women inclusion in governance and will continue to reserve senior positions to women in the civil service and parastatals.
He urged the women to obtain their PVCs and vote for the APC presidential candidate who she asserts to be the right candidate for such position having examined his clear and proven track records.
She noted further that the presidential candidate will usher in more prosperity for the state and the entire south east.
