As the All Progressive Congress (APC) conducts its primary to pick the party’s presidential candidate, the apex socio-cultural youth group of Ohanaeze Youth Council has warned the ruling APC not to play with the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja after the rumored endorsement of Sen. Alhmed Lawan as consensus candidate for APC presidential ticket, the national President of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka noted that the presidency must be rotational, between Northern and Southern Nigeria.

Hear him: “As President Mohammadu Buhari who is from the Northern Nigeria is finishing his tenure, a succeeding president must come from the Southern Nigeria.”

He further reiterated that instigators of ceding the party’s presidential ticket to the Northeast should desist from the mischievous act as it will not speak of the equity that is needed.

“The southeast zone has not produced president of Nigeria for 57 years, adding that Justice can’t be two or double at the same time. He hinted that the only justice, fairness and equity in Nigeria is taking the position of the president to Southeast not Northeast. APC presidential ticket must move to Southeast extraction not Northeast, he insisted.

“Nigeria is in a crossroad and redline in 2023, adding that the nation is suffering from a very chronic political pandemic.

“As we have counted PDP as the worst political enemy of Ndigbo, stressing that over 50 million Igbo youths have vowed to teach the party a lesson. ”If APC makes a similar mistake by denying Southeast presidential ticket, we shall teach them a historical lesson as well.
