As the November 11, 2023 governorship election gathers momentum in Imo State, the Labour Party Chairman in the state, Barr. Callistus Ihejiagwa KSJI, has assured that the party will deliver Imolites from lack, poverty, hardship, suffering and insecurity.
He gave the assurance during the inauguration of state Executive Members of Labour Party held at the party’s Secretariat Owerri on Sunday.
Ihejiagwa who promised that the party will not leave any stone unturned in salvaging the people from bad leadership which he frowned is caused by greed, hatred, wickedness, lack of love and incompetence among rulers, regretted that hunger, violence and lack of quality education, unavailability of social infrastructures among others bedevil the state.
He pointed out that “Labour Party has no faction in Imo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The party under the leadership of Barr. Julius Abure is united. LP is one. It is formidably committed to win Imo State governorship election with Senator Athan Nneji Achonu and his running mate, Hon. Tony Nwulu, to deliver Imo people from hardship, suffering, hunger, insecurity and underdevelopment”.
The Chairman without mincing words called on the citizens of Imo State including market women, men, students, farmers, youth groups, religious bodies, civil servants, security agents, pensioners, Obidients, support groups plus visitors to actively support the governorship election of Labour Party candidates, as well as give their mandate to the party to enable them restore the state for peace, comfort, conviviality and security.
Stressing that Senator Athan Nneji Achonu has endearing programs that are human oriented, Ihejiagwa described LP as the foremost political party in Nigeria, adding that “LP is coming to restore Imo State to the path of peace, social comfort, economic prosperity and security of life and property.
Our doors are open to welcome everyone to the party’s fold to enable us chart a positive course that would be for the good of all persons in the oil rich state”.
