First Mayor of Owerri and APC Candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, Hon. Chief Chijioke DB Williams (Ksm), has lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for achieving numerous things in the state.
CDB Williams gave the commendation when he spoke to journalists during the Flag-Off Rally for Governor Hope Uzodimma Second Term, held at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, on Wednesday.
He remarked that the Governor has great vision to develop the state socially and economically, edify it, make life more bearable and pleasing for all persons irrespective of class or origin thereby strengthen peace and security.
CDB Williams, an illustrious son of Owerri and pragmatic politician, said “the Governor has demonstrated leadership mettle through his sterling performance on youth rejuvenation (digital skills training/empowerment), quality road construction, rehabilitation, building of standard hospitals, provision of health insurance scheme to vulnerable persons, regular payment of workers salaries and increment of their wages, employment of primary school teachers, planned erection of new school blocks, desk provision, installation of boreholes in public schools across the 27 LGAs, refurbishment of State Secretariat Owerri, dredging of Oguta/Orashi River to link Atlantic Ocean to enhance commerce and tourism.
“Building of low cost housing estates, revamping of Adapalm, upgrading of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Owerri to Federal University of Education Owerri, upgrading of Federal Medical Centre FMC Owerri to Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), among other numerous laudable achievements” which he added are encouraging productivity, resourcefulness and improving social development and economic prosperity”.
While urging Imo people to see reasons for the values attached to these rare and extraordinary things the Governor had achieved so far, CDB Williams sought for the reelection of Uzodimma from Imo electorate to enable him consolidate his achievements with a view to making Imo State a haven of development, peace, security and prosperity, conviviality and cordiality.
CDB Williams was among prominent Imo politicians who joyfully welcomed the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Kashim Shetima, the National Chairman of APC, His Excellency, Abdulahi Umar Ganduje, among others for participating in the Flag-Off Rally, expressed confidence that the laudable achievements recorded by His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, will earn him victory at the poll on November 11, 2023.
