Media houses on Thursday were barred from covering the inaugural ceremony of Prof. Charles Soludo transition committee in Anambra state just as governor Willie Obiano shun event.
The governor was expected to grace the occasion but was visibly absent, raising the suspicion of possible rift.
Journalists who went to the venue of the ceremony to cover the inauguration were denied entry into hall on the ground that they were not needed.
Among the media houses denied entry were Daily Trust, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, New Telegraph, News Echo, This Nigeria, Guardian, Nigerian pilot, Leadership, Daily Times and others.
All efforts by the journalists to convince them that, they were supposed to cover the inauguration proved abortive.
One of the media team members of Soludo said that they are not interested in pressmen especially from Awka to cover the programme.
According to the man whose identity is not known said that they have their media team to cover the event
When contacted the Anambra state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Mr. C. Don Adinuba said he and the governor are not the programme. He said that he is not a member of the committee, noting that he has serious businesses in the ministry of information.
