As the primary election for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) House of Representatives gathers momentum, one of the Aspirants for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Uchenna Ozumba has stepped down for High Chief Dr Azubuike Ekweozor, Ide Umuawulu after securing APGA Nomination Form.

Ozumba made his intention publicly to step down for the frontline Aspirant, High Chief Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu) during the during the flag-off ceremony of Ebe Akpu road Amawbia, leading to the residence of APGA National chairman’s Chief Victor Ike Oye and another road beside Ebe Akpu.
The roads were to be constructed for the sake and solidarity to the aspiration of High Chief Dr Azubuike Ekweozor, Ide Umuawulu by High Chief Christopher Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu).
Hon Ozumba in his words said: “My supporters knew very well that I am qualified for the position but High Chief Azubuike Ekweozor is most qualified, it’s not yet my time, I cannot disobey my God.
“God said to me that He has prepared Ide Umuawulu for this struggle, leveling mountain and hills, bringing down the bronze gate and smashing its iron bar, giving him treasures from the dark secret place, God has called him by his name and taken him as his son, Since God is with Ide I can not be against him”.
“What I love about Ide Umuawulu is how he associates with everybody, very accommodating. He treats everybody equal without any iota of pride, very accessible, very grounded in his localities, among the contestants only Ide Umuawulu is the one who has the backup of the Igwe of his community,”.
Meanwhile, Hon Ozumba urged all his supporters, friends and well wishers to transfer all the unalloyed and maximum support given to him to Ide Umuawulu who he described as ordained leader.
Earlier in his remarks the project Financier Chief Christopher Ndubuisi (Ikenga Umuawulu) said that the zeal to construct the road came when Ide Umuawulu was at the APGA national chairman’s residence to notify him of his intentions.
He noted that if Ide Umuawulu could attract this project as an aspirant that his representation would be one of its kind.
Contributing, Awka South Transition Chairman, Hon Leo Nwuba, he appreciated Ide Umuawulu for attracting such project while he emphasised that this has nothing to do with politics but based on benevolence. He maintained that if it is politics, that he should have waited after securing his tickets.
In his remarks, High Chief Dr Ekweozor, Ide Umuawulu said that this is just the beginning of development for Awka North and South Federal constituency.
He thanked profusely Hon Uchenna Ozumba for the gesture to step down for him in good spirit, and assured him that they will work together in the rescue mission for Awka North and South he has initiated.
